Exploring Monferrato, you come across crystal clear streams and wild woods.

In a moment you pass through characteristic villages, castles, medieval fortresses and Roman settlements.

You can taste local wines in many wineries or you can meet master artisans in local shops, enjoying the tastes and experiences of the territory.

VINEYARD VISITS AND TASTINGS

Wine is an important part of the Nordelaia story.

Our in house sommelier is available to arrange presentations and tastings of Nordelaia’s own produced wines in the comfort of our Lounge Bar.

If you are looking to explore the wider region’s wine production, we also work with many local small and medium sized wineries where the passion of the people behind the production can be tasted in every bottle of wine they produce.

Our team will be happy to help arrange winery visits and tastings where you will be able to explore and learn more about the cellars, different methods of production and famous grape varieties.

TRUFFLE HUNTING

Some guests visit Piedmont in the autumn to simply enjoy the delicious white truffle expertly shaved over a plate of homemade plin or roast pumpkin, whilst others are after the thrill of the hunt for the aromatic ‘white gold’.

Nordelaia has teamed up with a few trusted local truffle hunters (and their loyal four-legged friends) to offer private truffle experiences in the nearby woodlands. Guests will learn about the various types of truffles, the history and tales dedicated to this rare and seasonal ingredient.

GUIDED TOURS

Nordelaia’s positioning in the UNESCO world heritage site of Montferrat offers countless opportunities to discover the rich history and varied cultural and gastronomic offerings of the region – from Cremolino Castle, Fort of Gavi and Castello di Tagliolo to Acqui Terme with its ancient Roman bath houses and curious antique markets run every last Sunday of the month to Alba and its famous truffle fair held annually in the autumn.

Novi Ligure and Barolo are also worth a visit for curious travellers, wine enthusiasts and foodies.

COOKING CLASSES

Why not discover Piedmont’s rich culinary history, secret recipes and authentic ingredients by taking part in a cooking class with our in-house team led by Charles Pearce?

The team are happy to cater for small and larger groups depending on the needs of the client and do not worry if you are a beginner in the kitchen or are an experienced pasta aficionado, there really is something for everyone to discover in Nordelaia’s open plan kitchen.
